About DOLE Region XII SOCCKSARGEN 2021 Kalayaan Job Fair

At the height of the pandemic, this year’s celebration of Independence Day is going virtual and is geared towards the creation and facilitation of more decent jobs and the promotion of entrepreneurship.  

 

With this, DOLE XII conducted the 2021 Kalayaan: Online Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) Job & Business Fair and One-Stop-Shop Services on June 12-14, 2021. This year's Independence Day celebration bears the theme 'Diwa ng Kalayaan sa Pagkakaisa at Paghilom ng Bayan'.  

 

The Expanded TNK initiative aims to create decent employment and to promote entrepreneurial which will lead to the reduction of inequality and the acceleration of human capital development. The virtual TNK fair is part of the National Employment Recovery Strategy (NERS) of the government for full economic recovery.  

 

The virtual event will also engage the assistance of the participating agencies for the OneStop-Shop Pre-Employment Documentation and Advisory Services.

DOLE's Negosyo Program, in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) aims to create decent jobs through the promotion of entrepreneurship.

DOLE's Kabuhayan program is a flagship program that provides grant assistance for capacity-building on livelihood and entrepreneurial ventures for vulnerable and marginalized workers.

DOLE Programs

ALIEN EMPLOYMENT PERMIT (AEP)

Under Article 40 of the Code of the Philippines, as amended, any alien seeking admission to the Philippines for employment purposes and any domestic or foreign employer who desires to engage an alien for employment in the Philippines shall obtain an employment permit from the Department of Labor and Employment.

The Alien Employment Permit (AEP) is a permit issued to a nonresident alien or foreign national seeking admission to the Philippines for employment purposes after the determination of the non-availability of Filipino citizen who is competent, able, and willing at the time of application to perform the services for which the alien is desired.

 

CAREER GUIDANCE ADVOCACY PROGRAM (CGAP)

Is one of the flagship programs being implemented by the Department as employment facilitation inter mediation services for the youth to provide them relevant information that could guide them in making informed career choices.

DOLE INTEGRATED LIVELIHOOD PROGRAM

A flagship program of the DOLE that provides grant assistance for capacity-building on livelihood and entrepreneurial ventures for vulnerable and marginalized workers. Provision of training on business planning, basic entrepreneurship development training, productivity and workers safety and health, and production skills. Provision of working capital in the form of raw materials, equipment, tools and jigs, and other support services. Support services such as common service facility and training-cum-production can also be funded. Enrollment to group micro-insurance scheme. Provision of continuing technical and business advisory services.

GOVERNMENT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

A component of KABATAAN 2000 under Executive Order (EO) no. 139s, 1993 and DOLE Administrative Order No. 260-15, which aims to provide opportunities and engage young workers to serve the general public in government agencies/entities projects and programs at the national and local level.

JOBSTART PHILIPPINES PROGRAM

JobStart enhances the employability of youth by reducing their job-search period and increasing their employability through training (life skills and technical skills required by industries), paid internships,s and full-cycle employment facilitation services. The program is also designed to increase the capacity of the Public Employment Services Office (PESOs) in providing full cycle employment facilitation services.

PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT SERVICES (PES)

The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) is a non-fee charging multi-dimensional employment services facility of an entity established in all Local Government Units (LGUs) in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) pursuant to R.A. No. 8759 or the PESO Act of 1999 as amended by R.A. No. 10691

SPECIAL PROGRAM FOR EMPLOYMENT OF STUDENT (SPES)

The Special Program for Employment of Student is DOLE’s youth employment-bridging program which aims to provide temporary employment to poor but deserving students, out-of-school youth, and dependents of displaced workers during summer and/or Christmas vacation or any time of the year to augment the family’s income to help ensure that beneficiaries are able to pursue their education.

TULONG PANGHANAPBUHAY SA ATING DISADVANTAGE/DISPLACED WORKERS

Emergency Employment Program or Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD), is a community-based (municipality/barangay) package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed, and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed
