Main Responsibilities To provide effective and efficient legal support for the various needs of the business which will include contracts management documentation management providing legal opinions and legal advice to ensure the effective management of legal and contractual risks Providing legal opinions and legal advice will cover the various requirements of the businesses of the Unicapital Group investment banking corporate and consumer lending and the various products offered by the securities brokerage The legal head must be able to work independently must possess strong initiative as well as excellent management and leadership skills Job Description Reviews and drafts contracts ranging from loan agreements and its variants contracts mandates and undertakings involving stocks brokerage services and other products as well as other legal documents for the various departments under the three companies under the Unicapital Group of Companies UI USI and UFII Issues legal opinions indicating the basis in law/jurisprudence/prior executed documents for the guidance and reference of officers and associates Draft business communication to clients and regulatory offices Coordinates with different government agencies and regulatory bodies if needed Coordinates and works with the Corporate Secretary and our external counsel on matters within his/her jurisdiction as required by the three companies Assists the Associated Person and Compliance Officer in addressing compliance issues with the different regulatory bodies Coordinates with external counsel on special projects on the initiation of legal action against clients and inquires or discusses progress updates on pending cases Offer proactive advice on possible legal issues to the different marketing teams in drafting agreements and transaction documents Chairs the Disciplinary Committee composed of the Legal Counsel HR Head and Head of erring employee in handling critical cases Prepare the annual budget for the legal department Other tasks that may be assigned from time to time that will support organizational goals and objectives
